I’m a freelance project manager running talent development programmes across Film and TV. I’m currently developing screenwriters for New Writing North where we are building a slate of exciting new TV work from writers from across the North of England as well as running a genre feature film development scheme in partnership with Film4. Alongside this I’m also supporting emerging TV directors for North East Screen through a programme of industry talks, creation of a talent deck and shadowing opportunities.
Based in Newcastle I’ve spent a long time working with and supporting screenwriting, producing and directing talent. After producing a low budget diy feature in 2005, I joined Northern Film + Media (now North East Screen) where through national lottery funds I was able to fund writers, directors and producers for over 10 years through commissioning and exec producing work which included 14 Random Acts for Channel 4 many of which were TX’d and raising the funds for and managing dozens of talent development programmes with Film and TV industry partners. I then spent 4 years at BFI NETWORK and exec produced over 25 shorts, developed numerous features and ran multiple editions of Script Lab. I also programmed industry days, mixers and screenings in partnership with festivals and cinemas across the North.
I served as a board member of the wonderful Beacon Films for 5 years and picked up an MA in Screen Project Development. In between all that and whilst I raised my kids I co-founded and was director of family focused creative company Chalk so I can also lay on a baby rave if needed.
