February '09 Review

A vote of thanks to all performers and guests at February "noted"

February was again enlivened by "noted's" eclectic brand of live entertainment. There were contributions from our regulars, including confirmed-rocker Stuart performing classical, die-hard folkie Iain performing blues, the obligatory cheese, prog-rock from the Wilding ensemble, something from the current century from Becca (with Paul's "interesting" accompaniment!) and many others. Newcomers Paul (performing Jake Thackery numbers) and Dean (with the closing Quo song) were very welcome additions. This week also featured the Big Noted Quiz, compeered by Tim, following his solo performance of "We're all going to die" - cheerful or what?
So, all in all, a great night of varied (and cheap) entertainment, with a good crowd in the house. We are expecting more of the same in March...

Noted's úber-drummer Peter Kearton's band, "Hydra" are playing at the Cotton Tree pub in Bolton on Sat 28th Feb. In his own words, "where else can you see a band of this quality for nowt, and have your ear-drums perforated into the bargain!". More details via the website or from Pete.

The big noted concert

April 26th - the week following the usual club night.
All noted performees are invited to perform their best pieces at a special evening at the Angel, with full PA and lighting (we're getting a new bulb for the ceiling lamp). Like last year's Legh Arms event, we hope for more than 100 people to fill the place. The upstairs bar will be opened, and everyone is encouraged to invite friends, family and even enemies.
