PLEASE NOTE. PLEASE NOTE. PLEASE NOTE.
NOTED tonight has been postponed for another month due to weather.
As Knutsford suffers in sub-zero temperatures (-1°) and deep snow (3"), organisers of tonight's extravaganza have taken the decision to stay home where it's warm, and watch "Dancing on Ice" on the TV.
PLEASE DO NOT TRAVEL if you were coming to Knutsford specially for the event.

I know, I know, it's not Christmas any more, but you all spent so long rehearsing those cheesy specials that I am sure you want a chance to air them.
Guests are more than welcome, as ever, and your support is valued enormously.
Musicians, please reply as soon as possible with your suggestions for songs - I've lost last month's list... In the spirit of NOTED, please feel free to ignore the Christmas theme.
And don't forget to visit the website www.noted.org.uk to vote on whether to do a Charity Ball in early summer.
Would you be interested in raising money for charity - possibly supporting music for disadvantaged people, or a local need?
All NOTED regulars would be invited to play favourite pieces at a Charity Ball, possibly in the early summer. The Ball would feature a sit-down meal and performances, plus possibly other money raising events. Guests would be by ticket only, which would cost £15 (say), and we would hope to bring in a couple of hundred, raising £2000 or more in the process?
The Ball would need to be at a larger venue, and we have some in mind. We first need to find out if you are interested...

December is upon us, the only time when Jona Lewie is ever heard...
Following the roaring success of the November Concert, which lived up to its billing as Folk to Fondue, we now announce our Christmas Special.
December 20th 7:30pm at the Angel Hotel.
featuring the 2009 noted awards
compeered by Paul Simmons
This year the theme is Christmas, so dust off your old Slade platform boots, put in your Pogue's teeth and give us your best Christmas cheer - or should that be cheese.
Song suggestions (themed or non-themed) can be sent by return email, or by filling the form on the website.

"Now the back-end of a horse I see, I remember my Dorotheeee", sang John, accompanying himself on accordian - another first for NOTED. We were treated to a materclass in bellows-powered music, just one of the highlights of Noted Unplugged. With no keyboards or drums and mostly acoustic instruments, the crowd were thoroughly entertained by the typical mix of jazz ("nice") from John G, 60's classics from Dave and Stu, pop classics from Chris & Elaine and/or Jill, Suart M's new-wave, Peter S's interesting interpretations (with chords!), and many more. Despite the Angel now hosting a Sunday evening rock jam downstairs, with bass & drums filtering up, all enjoyed the show, which was of course topped with Graham's cheese (though with overacted Dean Martinisms, perhaps it should be Ham & Cheese...) Recordings would be available, but of course, the recorder was also - unplugged.

With many of the “silverbacks” away this month it was a fine opportunity for some of the younger talent to step into the limelight and strut their stuff and boy did they deliver!
In her noted debut Angela really nailed Superstition (so good in fact we went for a second dose) and Pete W roped in the family inc David (more sax please we love it) for a range of top notch numbers. We let Jamie have his head in a drum solo and had a really cool rendition of a Jack Johnson song accompanied by the Ukulele.
Jenny and William covered well for their dad as the Thompsons with Jane as well did a sterling chunk in the second set and brought in some noisy audience from Nantwich (enthusiastic grandparents I think).
Not to be outdone Mike and Jane gave a first outing to a McKechnie composition which went down well (more of this please) and we let Pete K out from behind the drums for a couple of numbers.
